Thoth Tarot - Aleyster Crowley
t consists of 78 letters plus brochure with instructions in English language.
In the decade of the 40 a Tarot was created that only has rival in the Tarot Rider-Waite as far as its present popularity. His intellectual progenitor, Aleister Crowley, came to the Order of the Golden Dawn in the hands of Arthur Edward Waite, and was a member of it for some time.
Aleister Crowley was a person with an enormous amount of knowledge and that these were vividly expressed in his Tarot, The Tarot of Thot, which the artist Lady Frieda Harris (1877-1962) painted according to his indications.
The first thing that comes to mind in this Tarot is that, contrary to the simplicity found in the Tarot of Marseille, the Crowley Tarot presents a great color and paintings that do not stop generating fascination, especially in the Minor Arcana, where Crowley expresses the meaning of each letter in an incomparably abstract and profound way, through symbols originating from the worlds of magic, astrology, the traditions of Mediterranean cultures, the Celts and ancient Egypt.
